Self-defense taught

On Tuesday, November 13, Medaille’s gym was filled with women young and old who were interested in learning how to “Fight Like a Girl.” The program, which was brought to Medaille by the Oxygen Network and Time Warner Cable, was a free specialty class in basic self-awareness and self-defense techniques.

Medaille’s Radio Station, WMCB the Lizzard, held a clothing drive this year in order to benefit the less fortunate of the Buffalo community. October 31 until November 20, sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets, and more were collected in the Sullivan Center and the Lizzard office. Students, staff, and faculty donated new or gently used clothing to help the drive become a success.

“With the holidays approaching, we really wanted to help out some of the needy in our community,” said Natalie Schiavone, a Media/Communications major and Promotions Director for WMCB the Lizzard. “We know that others are not as fortunate as us, so we decided to come together and help out as many people as we can.” (more…)

Don’t get me wrong, my parents don’t take care of my laundry. I’m responsible for doing my own wash, and I have no problem with that. I mean, what’s so hard about pressing some buttons, pouring in some detergent or tossing in a dryer sheet, and dumping your clothes into a machine? It’s not difficult. For some reason, however, laundry is always difficult when it’s done at school. (more…)
